Executive Team
ACN Group's executive team demonstrates the diversity of experience found in our entire staff and reflects our goals – quality health care, business acumen, and technical expertise. Our executive committee is responsible for establishing the corporate objectives, developing strategies, and obtaining the resources to achieve them.
John DeSmet, Chief Operating Officer
John has been with ACN Group since April 2007 and was named COO in September.
Prior to joining ACN Group, he had been Director of Product Development for United Resource Networks
since January 2004. Before that, John led strategy development, customer growth initiatives and new product
development in leadership and consulting roles at UnitedHealthcare, Kozmo.com, BestFoods,
and Andersen Consulting. John holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University's
Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a BA in Political Science from Northwestern University.
David Elton, D.C., Senior Vice President of Clinical Programs
Dr. Elton is the senior vice president of clinical products for ACN Group. He is a published author and has
lectured nationally on a variety of topics relating to physical rehabilitation and outcomes assessment.
Dr. Elton is a 1986 graduate of Northwestern College of Chiropractic (NWCC).
Scott Dreyling, Vice President of Finance
Scott Dreyling joined ACN Group in June 2007. He has more than 13 years of finance and accounting experience,
most recently as Finance Director for Ceridian Corporation. Prior to that, he was Controller
for U.S. Oil Co. and Audit Manager for Arthur Andersen. Mr. Dreyling is a graduate of Minnesota State
University in Mankato with a B.S. in Accounting.
David Carufel, Vice President of Information, Technology, and Project Management
Mr. Carufel has been employed with ACN Group since 1995. He is responsible for the company's information
systems functions as well as project management. He is also a member of the HealthCare Financial Managers
Association (HFMA) and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a graduate of Minnesota State University in
Mankato, MN where he earned degrees in Accounting and Finance, with additional emphasis in Computer Science.
